The brass section is heading off to Dixon CA. for the Jug Band Festival at Ruhstaller Farm on September 28th.
We play Friday August 16 from 7-9 for the weekly Friday night social dance at the Mid County Senior Center. This is open to the whole community. We play 2-3 times a year for them. Email Gertie Johnson @ ladyinred@cruzio.com for more details. $10 entrance supports MCSC.
We play Sunday August 18 from 10-noon at the Live Oak Farmer's Market.
We have had a few change ups in the band. Our past drummer John Burton passed away and Olaf Schiappacasse has agreed to sit in for him. Our bass player Peter Young needs hand surgery and Dave Nordgren has been sitting in for him. Our clarinet, Tony DeVincentis, has had to step back for awhile, and Mike Young, Brad Hecht and Scott Nordgren have been sitting in.
Last Saturday at Pono, our trumpeter, Bill Lamb, was at a music camp and Bob Netzly sat in. No one noticed we were playing with four subs:

We have been very active playing but not so active posting on this site....but I was gently reminded by someone that I had been remiss, so here are the July gigs.
We play Saturday July 20 from 7-9 at Pono Hawaiian Grill DTSC (downtown Santa Cruz on Union St. We have been playing 3rd Sunday nights but Pono has asked us to change our date and we will be looking for a new regular date. Santa Cruz Swing instructors will be teaching a free swing dance lesson from 6:30-7. Come prepared to share a table with other dancers as Pono hopes we will leave some tables free for people who happen by to eat. And plan to eat there, as your patronage is why they keep having us back. Its free.

We have been having so much fun playing for dancers, now that we are in the post-pandemic era, that I have not spent much time posting our gigs here.
